Hello All!
If you are reading this blog, then by now you know that Math and I are now engaged! We have set the date to be July 14, 2012 (very slightly subject to change). I'm so VERY excited!

First of all, you probably want to hear our proposal story...Well here it is.

Friday March 25, 2011: Math had some good friends in town and we were throwing an hors d'oeuvre and champagne punch party. The two of us and four of his old college friends spent 3 hours in the kitchen making everything from stuffed mushrooms, to ham and cream cheese rollups, sushi, roasted potatoes with dill, hummus, deviled eggs and more!
As the party got going, quite a few people showed up, all dressed up in cocktail attire. It was a very festive event. Then "Elephant Gun" by Beirut came through the speakers and Math asked me to dance. Of course, I accepted. Halfway through he spins me around and with my back to him he holds something up and whispers "Will you marry me?" I must have looked stunned and confused so he spun me the rest of the way and when I turned to face him, he is down on one knee with the ring in his hand.
I managed to say "yes" and struggled to keep from bawling as at this point EVERYONE WAS WATCHING! We kept dancing as people cheered and clapped. And the rest, as Math likes to say, will be history..

I plan to use this blog to document our adventures in planning an off-beat and untraditional wedding. We'll see if I can keep it up. Also, please visit our wedding website which will be a (much) more reliable source of much-needed info like Venue, Directions, Registry etc. YAY!!!!
